:: $50,000 PICK SIX CONTEST
This is a fun and simple contest that has great prizes, especially for members that meet the post-up requirements. The contest has two parts, and two prize scales, which are both of which are explained below.
:: Contest Outline
Contestants will make 6 picks against the spread each week. The contest will run the entire football season, and will be held at Sportswireonline.com. Information regarding how to play from a procedural standpoint can be found there (if not now, once the season starts and the Week 1 games are put up).
:: Season Long Contest
Each contestant must pick six NFL games against the spread, each week. All point spreads will be ½ points to eliminate pushes. Players will be awarded one point for every correct selection. A possible 102 points are available as the players will pick six plays for each of the 17 weeks. We will award prizes to the top three finishers at the end of the season, with the potential prize for a "last place finisher" which is in essence, dead last.
:: Prizes for Season Long Contest
The prize structure is different for the winners if they have made a deposit of $300-$999 between August 27, 2002 and anytime before entering their first week's plays. If a player has made a deposit of $1,000 or more he qualifies for the post up plus level. He must rollover his deposit 5x to remain eligible for the post up plus level. Tiebreaker is determined by the best record over the last four weeks of the season. If the contestants are still tied, the tie-breaking procedure is to go back week by week, most recent to oldest, until the best week among the players is found. All prizes are paid with betable accounts in January 2003 at the end of the season. These prize accounts have a 5x rollover requirement and the structure is as follows:
| Place |
Non-Post Up |
Post-Up |
Post-Up Plus |
First Second Third |
$2500 $1000 $500 |
$7500 $3000 $1,500 |
$10000 $5000 $2,500 |
* Must enter plays all 17 weeks, and is only eligible for post up plus.
:: BONUS PRIZE for Season Long Contest
Sportswireonline.com will also pay a bonus of $15,000 if the winner of the Season Long Contest hits 70% or better with their picks overall.
:: Prizes for Weekly Contest
Just as with the season long contest, each contestant must pick six NFL games against the spread. All point spreads will be ½ points to eliminate pushes. Contestants will be awarded one point for every correct selection. The prize structure is different for the winners if they have an active and funded account of at least $100 before any of their weekly selections are played. Tiebreaker will be determined by the contestant with the larger balance to start the week. All prizes are paid with betable accounts that have a 5x rollover requirement and the structure is as follows:
| Place |
Non-Post Up |
Post-Up |
First Second Third |
$150 $100 $50 |
$600 $300 $100 |
